I have been wanting to do a concept with a pregnant model for a long time. I initially had this idea of taking the phases of a lady in the process of becoming a mother but I couldn’t find anyone who was ready to try it out mainly because photographing a pregnant lady and a new born is still a no no in many families here in India. Finally when I let Ms. C know about the idea she was totally up for it.

First a shot like this not only needs planning but there are other factors involved which makes it really tough to execute. With all the travel I do and the physical condition of the model we were able to do only once every 3 months. We ended up shooting at the 3rd, 6th, 9th months and 20 days after giving birth. I should thank both the mother and the baby for cooperating and making this idea a reality.
